About Us: News MIDnet/The Quilt Case Studies Presented at Internet2 Member Meeting LINCOLN, Neb, April 30, 2009 – MIDnet and The Quilt led a national panel discussion on research and education networks at the Spring Internet2 Member Meeting in Arlington, Virginia on April 29, 2009. The panel included representatives from MIDnet, The Quilt, KanREN, ARE-ON and LEARN. Carol Farnham of Signa Solutions represented MIDnet, Inc. About The Project The Case Study Project is a collaborative project with The Quilt to document business models of USA research and education networks. The documentation will be in the form of general overviews and case studies that include information on organizational structure, management, operations and pricing strategies. An overview document for public review is available on both organization’s websites and detailed information on the project is available to the research and education community on request. About The Quilt The Quilt gathers more than 24 leading research and education networking organizations in the United States to promote consistent, reliable, interoperable and efficient advanced networking services that extend to the broadest possible community; and to represent common interests in the development and delivery of advanced network services. Participants in The Quilt provide network service for more than 200 Internet2 universities and thousands of other educational institutions.
